Within 1-2 days after eating, it seems that the sick dogs will have red or dark red hemoglobin urine, and at the same time, they will experience symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, depression, palpitations, and splenomegaly. Feeding a small amount of onions for a long time can cause chronic poisoning in dogs, causing jaundice and anemia.
Dogs with onion poisoning can recover naturally if they stop feeding onions. For patients with severe hemolysis, glucose and Ringer's solution should be given, along with subcutaneous injection of cardiotonic agents such as sodium sodium and diuretics (furosemide), and blood transfusions if necessary.
