Tattooed spring lizard
The striped spring lizard (leiocephalus personatus) has a very lively character. It is worth mentioning that this lizard is very territorial and adult males cannot be kept in groups. When excited (when sunbathing, eating, communicating between species and meeting the owner), it will flap its head left and right and accompany it with its trademark movements: bending the tail like a spring. This is also the origin of its name.
Males have bright faces, while females are much darker. The striped spring lizard likes to crawl and jump quickly. As a lizard that lives in dry areas such as beaches, open bushes, and rocky areas, the spring lizard prefers sunbathing. They will stretch out their hind limbs to enjoy the sun like a water turtle basking on its back, showing an intoxicating pattern. Spring lizards have the habit of burrowing into bedding materials to stay overnight.
