Morphological characteristics of the Isle of Skye Terrier
Isle of Skye Terrier (confirmed introduction)

The hair of Skye Terrier and other terrier dogs are similar in length, long and messy, dense and rough. The head is richly feathered, and the eyes, nose, and muzzle are completely covered by the hair. This is an advantage for a working dog, but compared to a companion dog, excessively long hair not only affects the eyes but also affects the diet. .
The ideal height is 10 inches at the withers for males and 9.5 inches for females. A dog that is 10 inches tall at the withers has a body length of about 20 inches. Regardless of gender, being a little taller or a little shorter is acceptable. However, a male dog with a height less than 9 inches at the withers or a female dog with a height less than 8.5 inches is considered a fault. Ratio - The ideal body ratio is 97% of the body and the ratio of length to shoulder height is 2:1. Constitution - The body structure is thick, full of strength but not rough. Plenty of bone.
The eyes are brown, dark brown is more ideal, of normal size, set close together, and full of vitality and intelligence.
Ears are neat and symmetrical, elegantly feathered. Probably erect or lop ears. If the ears are erect, they are of normal size, located higher on the outer edge of the head, the ear tips are wider apart, and the distance between the ear tips is greater than the distance between the ear roots. Lop ears are slightly larger, set shorter, and hang flat on the top of the head.
The width at the back of the head is flat, gradually tapering toward the target of the tone, which is thick. Stop slightly. The tone is dark and the fullness is flat. Powerful and superior to a strong jaw. The nose must be black. Dudley noses, flesh-colored or brown noses are disqualifications. The bite is either a scissors bite or a pincer bite.
Double coat. The undercoat is short, close, soft and fuzzy. The outer coat is hard, straight and flat. 5.5 inches long, no need to be longer. The coat on the body hangs straight down on the sides of the body and is evenly divided from the new head to the tail. The hair on the head is probably shorter, and the muzzle and eyes are covered by a long "veil", resulting in eyebrows and a bib. There are long feathers around the ears. The feathers hang down straight from the sides and tips of the ears, forming tassels and setting off the shape of the ears. The resulting hair blends into the neck coat. The tail is beautifully feathered.
The coat color must be a simple color consistent with the skin color, or may have different shades, which may be black, blue, gray, silver, light brown or cream with varying degrees of lightness and darkness. There should be no other markings except black markings on the ears, muzzle and tail tipOr freckles, the darker the freckles, the better, preferably black. The color of the head and legs is close to the color of the body.
There is no need to imitate the color and pattern of a standard dog. This breed only allows white patterns on the chest that are no larger than 2 inches in diameter. The coat color of a puppy may be very different from that of an adult dog. Therefore, during the development of puppies, their expressions will undergo great changes; therefore, the expressions of puppies under 18 months of age are allowed to be different. In any case, puppies do not have to imitate the color and pattern of standard dogs, except that cream-colored dogs have black stripes around the body, but adult dogs are only allowed to have white patterns on the chest that are no more than 2 inches in diameter.
When walking, the legs go straight forward. Upon inspection from the front, the forelimbs remain straight. The distance between the paws is the same as the distance between the elbows. The important propulsion comes from the rear limbs. When moving your forelegs forward, don't lift them too high. All movements can be said to be smooth, brilliant and brisk, more or less like a shocking painting.
